Power to Prevent Cancer
Efforts to prevent HPV cancers have long been divided across disease types and strategies, while trust in science and vaccines has been challenged. Power to Prevent Cancer unites clinicians, public health leaders and organizations under one evidence-based message: prevention works, and we stand behind it.
About Power to Prevent Cancer
The Power to Prevent Cancer symbol represents unity, prevention and collective action. It brings everyone working on HPV cancer prevention together under one shared identity. The six colors in the word “Cancer” stand for the prevention ribbons of the six HPV cancers: throat, cervix, anus, vulva, penis and vagina.
What It Represents
The 6 colors in the word “Cancer” represent the cancer-prevention ribbons for each type – including cancers of the throat, cervix, anus, vulva, penis, and vagina. It was important for us to represent our Roundtable members in this graphic way.
Beyond the color symbolism, this mark represents:
Prevention
The ability to stop cancer before it starts.
Science
Evidence-based approaches to health.
Unity
Collaboration across sectors and disciplines.
Momentum
A growing movement toward a tipping point.
